Excited
by Lynda Robson
It was like being sixteen again,
Lovestruck in middle age
When one is supposed to be
Sensible and mature
Like comfortable shoes
And strong cheese.
But inside she wanted to shout
Tell the world she was in love
And this time around it was better
And yes, she was so excited
Like a schoolgirl, full of joy
Waiting for her phone to ring
And hear her lovers voice
Not afraid of the future
But confident and waiting
For him to sweep her off her feet!
